Product Description

VENPRAZOL Injection

Composition: Pantoprazole 40mg with Water for Injection as supplied or specified for reconstitution.

Dosage Form: Powder for solution for injection, supplied with a vial and Water for Injection, subject to confirmation of the product packaging.

Family:
Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI).

Indications:
VENPRAZOL Injection is used for the short-term management of acid-related gastrointestinal conditions when oral therapy is not appropriate, according to approved prescribing information. Pantoprazole may be indicated for gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) associated with erosive esophagitis and for pathological hypersecretory conditions when clinically appropriate.

Clinical Benefit:
VENPRAZOL contains pantoprazole, a proton pump inhibitor that suppresses gastric acid production. By reducing acid secretion, it helps control acid-related symptoms and supports the healing of acid-induced damage to the esophagus in appropriate clinical settings. The injectable formulation provides an alternative route of administration when oral treatment is unsuitable.

Mechanism of Action:
Pantoprazole selectively inhibits the hydrogen-potassium ATPase (H⁺/K⁺-ATPase) enzyme system in gastric parietal cells. This action reduces both basal and stimulated gastric acid secretion.

Dosage and Administration:
The dose, frequency, and duration depend on the indication, patient condition, and prescribing information. The vial must be prepared and administered by qualified healthcare professionals according to the manufacturer's reconstitution and administration instructions. Use only the supplied or specifically approved diluent.

Use in Pregnancy:
Use during pregnancy should be based on an individualized assessment of potential benefits and risks by a healthcare professional.

Drug Interactions:
Pantoprazole may affect medicines whose absorption depends on gastric acidity. Potential interactions should be reviewed, particularly with certain antiretroviral medicines, high-dose methotrexate, and other clinically relevant therapies.
