Bambuterol
- Is a Carbamate prodrug of terbutaline
- First once daily oral Beta 2 agonist with 24 hour duration for the treatment of asthma
Montelukast
- Orally active compound that binds with high affinity and selectivity to the CysLT 1 receptor
- Acts as a Leukotriene receptor antagonist
Ideal Combination
- The Combination of an oral bronchodilator (bambuterol) and leukotriene receptor antagonist ( montelukast) takes care of both the components of asthma, brochoconstriction and inflammation which gives greater clinical efficacy.
